Jim Reeves was a qualified pilot. Sadly this skill led to Jim’s death in 1964 when the star experienced a plane crash along with his pianist and manager Dean Manuel. A huge search was mounted to find the downed plane at the time with some 500 people involved in the search. Many of Jim’s fellow country artists were part of the search party.
